BREAKING NEWS: JOHN MURTHA HAS DIED!

John Murtha has died. Recently Murtha had what is normally pretty routine surgery on his gall bladder, however sadly he unexpectedly passed away from complications at a Virginia hospital this afternoon. He was 77.
I truly hope no one is acting foolish over this news.
I have as much respect for John Murtha in life as I did for roadkill that I pass on the highway at 75mph.
But the man has died and partisan debate should end at the coroners toe tag.
Prayers go out to Murtha’s family.

Warrior Legacy Foundation
My prayers and condolences to John Murtha’s family. My husband, a Marine, didn’t have anything good to say about Murtha, even going to the extent to say that Murtha shouldn’t even be considered a Marine anymore. I do hope that the people of his district in Johnstown, PA will now get the representation that they deserve, and not another self-serving politician.

I feel no joy at his death. I’m just hopeful that now Western PA will elect a better Congressman. I’m sure Murtha is having a discussion about the meaning of “Semper Fi” with the likes of Chesty Puller.
Prayers to his family.

I have wonder what could possess someone like John Murtha, a guy with a distinguished military career, nonetheless a retired Marine Colonel to turn his back on his brethren…..he will have to answer to the Almighty.

No comments about the ex-marine, but I do have best wishes for the family at their loss.

@Ray – the only way he could have the discussion would be if he and Chesty went to the same place. While it is up to God to judge men’s souls, I’m speculating that they aren’t in the same zip code.

I figure Chesty will make a special trip to speak to Murtha. It’s not like he hasn’t already spent time in Hell and kicked it’s ass before.

I guess I’m in the minority here.
As the resident shit talking Marine:
I hope he burns in hell with the terrorists he took sides with. I hope his family lives in shame and his grandchildren will be embarrassed to be related to a traitor. Just as the I gleefully cheered for every terrorist we kill, I gleefully read this news and know another bastard who cares more about himself than his well being of his own brothers, is no longer someone we as a country, have to deal with.
Fuck him. Fuck his service. Fuck his bronze star he didn’t deserve (that he received YEARS! YEARS! after he got out of the Marine Corps. His citation was written by folks he didn’t even serve with!) Fuck his family. Fuck the folks who voted him in when they had a real candidate that would return the dignity of his district (Bill Russell).
So no. No rest in peace. I hope you and your islamic homies are living in it up with lucifer you fucking traitor “Marine”.

Disappointing that USMC Chris is not able to be express his true feelings. I see this alot with returning veterans. Eager to please. Afraid to upset the applecart. Perhaps over time, USMC Chris will be able to share with us what he really is thinking down deep in his tortured soul.
Seriously, wowsers. This is a Marine speaking with regards to another Marine. I don’t believe Mr. Murtha ever truly understood the damage he caused with his reckless and virulent statements. This anger will forever cloud his legacy.
And soldiers like myself really don’t understand the pride of the USMC. And for anyone who wore that proud uniform to betray their own… it still bothers most today.

If the family is dense enough to want a military funeral, I wonder if the Corps will be able to find six willing Marines?

USMC Chris, you are expressing the sentiments of many. I have a pretty good idea of what my son would say just about now at his COP in Helmand regarding the ex-Marine Murtha and would not be much different than your statement.
It is a sad day for me thinking that he will probably get full Military honors just like the tens of kids I honored as a Patriot Guard in the last three years. But I bet there will be no flag line for this traitor.
Thank you for your service, Marine, and thank you to all who have and still are serving.

I served in the USMC in 2 wars 1990-2003 with honor. The real honor was serving alongside the Men and Women of the USMC, it was the best group of co-workers I ever had.
I agree with the sentiment that the criticism ends at the toe tag. I also agree that when it comes to his legacy it is stained, permanently.
It is not criticism to say, a man should stand behind there record and their words, John Murtha did neither.

I think that this jackass could have won back a shred of honor if he would have manned up and admitted he was wrong. He never aplogized and hid behind his stature as a representative in his defence. He comitted slander and libel, but got away with it. I would hate to have to be on the team that will get assigned to his funeral.

I started to read the AP article on Murtha today, but had to stop when the title “Murtha recalled as advocate for military ” made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

The bard, as he often did, provided the appropriate epitaph:
“The evil men do lives after them, the good is oft interred with their bones.”
So let it be with Murtha.
